Genetic study of STR loci (locations)

In our Genetic Identification Laboratory we research on a regular basis, on every order - 19 listed below genetic STR systems (Short Tandem Repeat polymorphisms - short sequences of DNA, normally of length 2-5 base pairs, repeated numerous times ): CSF1PO, D3S1358, D5S818, D7S820, D8S1179, D16S539, D18S51, D21S11, D2S1338, D19S433, FGA, THO1, TPOX, VWA, PentaD, PentaE, SE33 and Amelogenin (the sex marker).

Three additional DNA systems introduced by our lab are to be found on somatic chromosomes but not on Y chromosome as it happens in the case of majority of companies which offer “possibility of researching extra DNA systems”. Therefore, our testing gives our clients the certainty not only as far as male sex is concerned but also in analysis of both sexes.

The research is conducted with the use of:

  • The most recent and approved worldwide genetic technologies,
  • Expert and high resolution analytic equipment based in our laboratory on the premises of Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology of Jagiellonian University,
  • Our highly qualified staff, specialising at “Molecular Biology” of Jagiellonian University who carry out the research with accuracy and precision.
