The Laboratory of Genetic Identification
The Laboratory offers paternity testing based on 18 independent somatic STR systems (plus nineteen sex marker), making the research more accurate in that way. Standard analysis in genetic identification laboratories is carried out on 11-15 somatic STR systems and consecutive STR combinations are added only in disputable cases. We would like to stress that those additional examined markers can be found only on somatic chromosomes but not on Y chromosome, analysis of which is possible only for males. In the need of genetic identification based on a damaged biological sample, our laboratory does sequencing of highly variable regions of HVI and HVII of mitochondrial DNA. The research involves a non-invasive method (a smear test of core cells from an under cheek part of oral cavity) which provides potential clients with maximum comfort.
